General Description
The Yomiuri Shimbun are offering the Shibusawa-Claudel Prize for a book on the language and/or culture of Japan, be it an academic book or a translation of a literary or academic work. For academic books and theses, the acceptable areas of focus are Literature, Art, Philosophy, History, Law, Economics, Humanity, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. The winner of the prize will receive roundtrip airfare from Paris to Tokyo, and 300000 yen to cover living expenses in Japan during the trip.
Requirements
Applicants must be under 45 years of age, and must be French nationals. Dual nationals are ineligible. Works should have been published or defenced within the last 2 years. The winner will produce a presentation of their trip and work on return.
