General Description

The United Kingdom Government, with its Access to Learning Fund, helps students to access higher education. In particular it helps students who cannot find any other source of support for their costs and fees.

Requirements

This award is available to all those students who are registered on higher-education courses. The only general requirement is that the applicant meets the same resident criteria that apply for Student Maintenance Loan applications. Full-time undergraduate applicants are eligible only if they apply and receive a student loan or NHS Bursary. Full-time postgraduate students need to have enough money to cover their fees and business costs. Part-time students must have a part-time fee and course grant, or a tuition fee loan. Access to Learning Fund monies cannot be used to pay tuition fees, university fines or debt.
