General Description

The Tower Hamlets Council has proudly announced that The Mayor’s Higher Education Award is now launched and is being administered by the council’s Benefits department to help ease the cost of university for Tower Hamlets students. This award scheme is created as a result of the success of the Mayor’s Education Award – a separate scheme, now in its third year, in which school leavers are given grants to help them stay in education post-16. The scheme is the first higher education grant programme of this scale in the country, providing up to 400 grants, each of £1,500, to help young people who are starting higher education in the beginning of the academic year.
