The mission of the Cryer-UCL Bursary is to offer financial support to one prospective undergraduate student within the Economics Department to take up their offer of study at the University College London, regardless of his or her financial background. The selected recipient will be given £8,333 per year for three years at UCL to cover maintenance costs – which is subject to satisfactory academic achievement – and will be paid in addition to any other funding received through the main UCL Bursary/NSP schemes. The goal is to allow the student to take advantage of the most opportunities available at UCL and in London, and to progress in his or her studies without having to worry about finances. One Cryer-UCL Bursary will be awarded per academic session, with duration of three years. Applicants should note that all scholarship and student-funding schemes are subject to availability of funds, and these details provided are subject to change at any time. Applicants are also urged to check information regularly to ensure awareness of current procedures, deadlines, etc. The selected candidate will be notified as soon as possible once a decision has been made.
Applicants are required to: be a UK or EU domicile; hold an offer of admission to UCL to study a full-time undergraduate degree within the Economics Department for the academic session intake; and show a financial need, as to be demonstrated in the application.
