General Description

The University of the West of England offers Care Leaver's Bursaries for certain students. It is open to new students from Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. It is also open to continuing students at UWE. It is for students that have been in Local Authority care for at least a 3 month period since the age of 14. The bursary is intended for students that did not return to live with their parents. It is means tested but is automatically awarded to qualifying students.

Requirements

To be eligible students must be registered at the University of the West of England. They must be considered a 'Home' or UK resident student. And they must come from a household with an income of less than £25,000. A letter from Social Services confirming their period of time spent in care must also be provided.
