General Description

The Dublin City University provides within the framework of its Daniel O’Hare scholarship scheme, four PhD scholarships to fund research aligned with DCU's Research and Innovation Strategy. There will be one scholarship for every DCU Faculty. The four DCU Faculties are: Faculty of Science and Health, Faculty of Engineering and Computing, DCU Business School, and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Successful candidates will be awarded a yearly stipend of €16,000, full coverage of DCU’s fees in addition to research expenses consisting in €2,500 per annum, for a period of FOUR years.

Requirements

Applicants must have a first or upper second class primary degree (or equivalent). Applications are also open for students in the final year of their undergraduate degree. In order to obtain the award, students must be registered as a full-time PhD student for the period of the award. Beneficiaries are not allowed to receive another financial reward of more than €4000 for the period of the scholarship. The research project will have to be discussed and approved by a DCU supervisor prior to applying. It will have to be aligned with DCU's Research and Innovation Strategy.
