General Description

Awarded by the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD-GmbH)/Centre for International Cooperation & Mobility (ICM) on behalf of and financed by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW), the Ernst Mach worldwide grant for study at an Austrian university is aimed at postgradates, PhD holders and postdocs of any nationality (excluding Austrian). It supports students in natural sciences, technical sciences, human medicine / health sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences and humanities. Scholarships range from 1 to 9 months and may be awarded for a semester or for a full year. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of 940 Euros. Non-European candidates from developing countries are also eligible for a travel cost subsidy of up to 730 Euros.

Requirements

Eligible candidates will either be: 1) postgrad students undertaking a doctoral or PhD progamme in any country other than Austria; 2) postgrad or postdoc students with a desire to embark upon research in Austria and who concluded their studies at a non-Austrian institution after Sep 30, 2013; or 3) postdoc students employed as lecturers at non-Austrian universities. Candidates may not have studied or pursued research in Austria in the six months prior to accepting the grant.
