General Description

The World Bank and the Government of Japan award scholarships to professionals living in a developing country who would like to pursue their master's studies in another country in a field related to international development. The scholarships cover tuition fees and living expenses for a maximum of two years, as well as a return air ticket.

Requirements

Candidates must be nationals of a World Bank member country eligible to borrow, and have been officially admitted in one of the scholarship’s preferred or partner master's programme. Candidates must have at least three years but no more than 20 years of recent full-time employment, a bachelor's degree, and at least three years of recent work experience in a development-related field. Candidates are evaluated based on the quality of their academic and professional experience, and on financial need.
