The University of Algarve works together with Brazilian universities in order to improve the academic relations between the two countries and to promote cultural exchange between Portugal and Brazil. The current program was established in 2007 and it is known as the “Scholarship Program of the Luso-Brazilian Santander Universities.” University of Algarve usually provides five such scholarships, each of them having a total value of €2,300.
Students that want to benefit from one of these scholarships must firstly prove they are registered with the University of Algarve. For eligibility, the must have finished the previous year with all the 60 ECTS credits that are awarded. A letter of motivation and a letter of recommendation are also mandatory, together with a curriculum vitae and an arithmetic average of the course grades that have been earned in the previous year.
