General Description

University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro is one of the Portuguese universities that allows students to take part in the Fulbright Program. Established in the United States, this scholarship program has links to more than 100 countries in the world, each of them being able to send students in the US. The US-Portugal partnership is a great way for students to better understand and work to improve the academic connections between the two states. The scholarships have a value of $25,000 per year, but second year Masters and Doctors or third year Doctors can receive a supplement of maximum $6,000.

Requirements

Students that wish to apply for a Fulbright scholarship need to have an average degree higher than 14 points and they undergraduate cycle must be already completed when they apply. If their bachelor degree had a duration of only three years, they must attend at least one full year of the second cycle of studies.

Considering the destination, exceptional English skills are required, students being able to prove their knowledge of the language with the aid of TOEFL and IELTS tests results that yield more than 100 points or 7 points, respectively.
