General Description
The German Academic Exchange Service provides scholarships for foreign students from the field of Fine Art, Design, Film, Music, Architecture and Performing Art. This is an opportunity to complete a course of extension studies, without gaining a formal degree or qualification. The period of this type of scholarship is normally one year. But the student can also choose to apply to a postgraduate or Master’s program to gain a degree in Germany. It will last between 10 and 24 months. In the first application the scholarships are awarded for one academic year. It can be extended upon application for students with good study achievements. The scholarships applications will be carefully checked by a committee.
Requirements
Interested students will need a proof of academic achievements. The student must add references or letters of recommendation submitted by the university teachers. A description with the study or research project in question. A letter from a German university teacher to confirm an academic supervision for the applicant is not mandatory but can give more points during the decision by the committee. The documents required can change depending on the student´s country of origin.
