Eurocentres - Scholarship for extraordinary hobbies

GENERAL INFORMATION

At university, in your student job or in your sports club: instructions often are given to you and it’s hard to develop own ideas or to be creative. In order to escape a boring routine a lot of students have challenging hobbies. We are looking for the student with the most extraordinary hobby in France.

• You study business and in your free time you are a circus clown?
• You are a design student and a passionate geocoaching player?
• After your medicine lecture you enjoy bungee jumping?
• Unique and unusual experiences are part of your daily routine?
• Your friends are amazed when they hear about your hobby?

We are looking for people from France who are more focused on their rare and special hobby than on performing above average at university. If you count yourself among this group then apply now.

THE SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship for extraordinary hobbies contains a language course in San Diego in the USA. The language course takes place at the Eurocentres language school which is located close to the harbour of San Diego in the historical Gaslamp quarter. The scholarship is worth 4,000 €.

The scholarship includes:

• Four weeks language course (20 hours per week)
• Accommodation with a host family including lodging
• Allowance of 500 €
• Transfer from and to the airport
• Foreign insurance
• The costs of the flight (roundtrip)

You can redeem the scholarship for one entire year until the 30^th of April 2017. You can plan the trip individually.

REQUIREMENTS

Students from all fields of study and semesters can apply.

HOW TO APPLY

• Application form: Complete the application form with your basic information.
• Video or text: You can either make a short video where you introduce yourself and present your extraordinary hobby OR you can write a short text about it.
• You can upload the video to any video portal (e. g. YouTube, Vimeo). The name of your video should contain the word “Eurocentres”. The link to the video has to be included in your application form. The link must be directly copyable.
• Send your application to hobbies-france ( AT ) european-funding-guide.eu and make sure to sign your application.
• The application is accepted in English only. Don’t worry: Your level of English does not affect your chances of receiving the scholarship at all.
• The attachment should not exceed 2 MB.

THE VIDEO / TEXT

You can make a video OR write a text. Your video or your text should help us to get to know your personality and to understand why your hobby is extraordinary. Your application has to be in English. Your level of English does not affect your chances of winning the scholarship. The video shouldn’t be longer than 1 minute. We are looking for authentic videos. It’s not necessary to edit the video professionally. The text shouldn’t be longer than 1,000 characters (incl. spaces).

SELECTION PROCESS

• You can send your application via email until the 31^st of March 2016.
• Our jury selects finalists until the 15^th of April 2016.
• To choose a winner a public voting will be hold online from the 16^th of April until the 30^th of April 2016.
