General Description

The IRAS Foundation offers scholarships to non-Dutch students enrolled in the Utrecht University. The purpose of this scholarship is to increase knowledge on the relationship between environmental factors and public health. The PhD part of the scholarship is needs-basedand is aimed at students who are financially incapable of covering all costs involved with this education. It is open to both student in a masters course, and PhD students. Each student can apply for a maximum of €12,500 for the total period of 2 years. This covers (part of) travel, accomodation and living costs and (partial) tuition fees

Requirements

Students must be enrolled in MSc programme on Toxicology and Environmental Health, or the MSc programme Epidemiology, with specialization Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology at Utrecht University, or must be pursuing a PhD education with IRAS. Students of Dutch nationality are excluded. Applicants must at least hold a Bsc degree in Environmental Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or Biology. Next to these academic qualification applicants must show motivation, determination, good study results, good proficiency in English and other means of income. Furthermore, acceptance of the scholarship must be confirmed with 2 weeks after the decision is announced. Once the scholarship is accepted the student must start his/her education programme at the earliest possible starting moment (for the MSc programmes September or February). Also, the student must have, or be willing to apply for, a Dutch bank account to receive payments.
