General Description
SPIE offers two scholarship programmes: Optics and Photonics Education Scholarships and Travel Scholarships. The programme is open to a wide range of students all over the world from high school to doctoral students, who wish to pursue studies in optics, photonics or a related field.
The Optics and Photonics Education Scholarships are for students ranging from high school to graduate students. The scholarship general funds tuition, books, research activities and related expenses. Scholarship awards range from $2,000 to $11,000.
Requirements
You may only apply for one SPIE scholarship for each academic level (first degree,Masters, Doctorate). You can only apply for one of the two scholarships but not both. You must be a Student Member of SPIE to apply. For the education scholarship, you must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in one of the eligible programmes: optics, photonics, imaging, optoelectronics program or related discipline (e.g., physics or electrical engineering). You will need two recommendations . Postdoctoral students are not eligible for the education scholarship.
