General Description

Webster University offers a limited number of work study scholarships whereby students receive support with their tuition fees in exchange for taking up student assistant roles in university departments. Applicants' success is determined on the basis of academic achievement, experience and suitability for the positions available. Work study positions in the library, computer laboratory, Student Affairs, the Academic Affairs Department or the Admissions Department afford successful candidates the chance to acquire useful experience of working life. The duration of study work positions varies between five and ten terms depending on hours worked per term. Students receive 50% (for ten hours work per week) or 100% (for 20 hours work per week) tuition fee coverage for one 3 credit course per term. To receive the financial assistance, students must take classes in the terms in which they receive the scholarship.

Requirements

Applicants must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be currently pursuing a degree. Applicants' chances are improved by having relevant work experience. Retention of scholarships depends on maintenance of a minimum 3.0 GPA.
