About this scholarship

General Description

The World Bank and the Government of Japan give scholarships to Japanese professionals who would like to pursue their studies abroad in the fields of economics, finance, planning, health, population, agriculture, environment, natural resource management, or education. The scholarships cover tuition fees and living expenses for a maximum of two years, as well as a return air ticket.

Requirements

Candidates must be of Japanese nationality and have been officially admitted in the master's or PhD programme of their choice to apply for the scholarship. They must hold a bachelor's degree earned at least three years prior to the application deadline. Most scholarships are awarded to applicants planning to work in international development organizations in Japan. Candidates are evaluated based on the quality of their academic and professional experience, and on financial need.
