About this scholarship

General Description

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology offers scholarships to foreign students who are interested in improving their knowledge of Japanese language and culture. The monthly grant provided can reach a maximum of 117000 Yen (currently about 850 Euro); it is awarded for the length of the chosen course, which should be finished within one year.

Requirements

These scholarships are open to undergraduate students of Japanese Studies. Candidates must pass an interview and a written examination in Japanese language, both of which are to be conducted at the Japanese embassy of their country of origin. Only applicants between 18 and 30 years of age will be considered.
