About this grant / loan
General Description
The Amsterdam Merit Scholarships are offered by the University of Amsterdam. They serve to attract outstanding international (non EEA) students. These are full scholarships, which are awarded by the relevant faculty or international school.
Requirements
Requirements vary from faculty to faculty. There are however a few requirements which apply to all faculties. Students must be from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and must not be eligible for funding under the Dutch system of student loans and grants ("studiefinanciering"). Students must be enrolled on a full-time Bachelor or Masters course at the University of Amsterdam. Students must also comply with Dutch visa regulations. Furthermore, students may not be in receipt of a full scholarship from another source. Continuation of the scholarship is dependent on academic progress and is not guaranteed when a student switches to another course. Students must gain approximately 80% of credits in any one year. Extra requirements might apply for specific faculties or courses.
