General Description

A £500 Houghton Syriac Version Prize is available at the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford. The subject for examination is the ancient versions of the Holy Scriptures in Syriac covering translation, criticism and interpretation. Special preference is given to books named by the commissioners. There are 2 papers involved in this examination.

Requirements

Other than being students of the Faculty of Theology and Religion applicants must be members of the university for 21 terms or less. This prize cannot be awarded twice to the same person.
