About this grant / loan
General Description
Students attending Bishop Grosseteste University, or any other UK university, who have dependent children can benefit from Child Tax Credit. The scheme is managed by HM Revenue and Customs. The amount of money allocated to parents who have dependent children will depend on the information gathered to assess their financial situation. Parents with disabled children or children that are under one-year-old are eligible for more financial help. Students who receive the full Child Tax Credit amount also qualify for free school meals.
Requirements
Applicants must be 16 years old or older and have a dependent child who is 16 years old or younger. Applications are also assessed from applicants registered with the Careers Services, or equivalent. Students who are responsible for dependents who are 16 to 19 years old are also considered.
