General Description

The Ethna Byrne Costigan Memorial Prize is awarded to the student who obtains the highest marks in the second year examination in Italian. This prize honors Professor Ethna Byrne Costigan. She held the position of Professor of Romance Languages at University College Cork from 1940 to 1970. This Prize enables the student to attend a summer programme in an Italian University.
