General Description

The Society of the Promotion of the German Opera Berlin e.V. is the patron behind this award. The Franz-Josef-Weisweiler Scholarship is created to support young artists of all nationalities. Therefore it offers suitable candidates the opportunity to get to know the opera house for 12 months. 5 scholarships are granted per year, each paying 1.550€ per month. Therefore the artists are enabled to collect early experiences on stage and expose themselves to feedback. For appearances in operas an extra compensation of 700€ is paid.

Requirements

Young artists, vocalists and singers of all nationalities may apply for this program. The maximum age is 30. Applicants have to show proof of their skills and talent.
