About this grant / loan
Joint Study Grant Programme (WU Vienna)
You will receive up to 250 EUR per month for a stay abroad of up to 12 months to complete an exchange semester outside Europe. The grant is intended to cover your travel and living costs whilst abroad. It is paid out in two instalments: approximately two-thirds before your departure and the remaining third upon your return, once you have provided evidence of your academic achievements. The Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna) runs the programme for its own students who are going to a partner university outside the Erasmus+ area.
Who can apply
- Your university: You’re studying at WU Vienna.
- Where you go: You have been accepted onto an exchange programme at a WU partner university outside the Erasmus+ area (for example, overseas or in Russia, Montenegro or Ukraine).
- Length abroad: Your exchange will last between three and twelve months.
- Field of study: Anyone interested is welcome to apply.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- Results abroad: You will earn at least 15 ECTS credits whilst studying abroad and have these recognised by WU Vienna.
- How often: You can receive this grant once per cycle of study (for example, once during your Bachelor’s degree).
How to apply
Once you have been nominated for an exchange place, please apply via the International Office at WU Vienna. The application deadline is 4 June.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is aimed exclusively at WU students who have already secured a confirmed exchange place at a non-European partner university, so the pool of applicants is small. If you have secured such a place and meet the credit requirements, your chances are good. The biggest hurdle is obtaining the exchange nomination itself, not the scholarship.
