Regular scholarship of the Mozarteum University Salzburg

You will receive up to 300 EUR per month for one academic year. The university calculates this as 9 months, meaning you will receive a total of up to 2,700 EUR. The Mozarteum University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg, Austria, awards this grant to international students who require financial support. You may receive this grant a maximum of twice.

Who can apply

• University: You are a full-time student at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. You do not need to be an Austrian citizen.
• Field of study: Every subject taught at the university.
• How far you are: Applications are made in the 4 semester, after you have studied at the Mozarteum for at least 4 semesters. You may apply from the 2th semester onwards if you have previously completed an equivalent degree programme at another recognised Austrian or foreign higher education institution.
• Grades: You achieved a very good mark in your main art subject last semester. Your average mark in your other compulsory subjects is 2.0 or higher (ECTS-weighted).
• Financial need: You are unable to cover the costs of your studies on your own.
• Recommendations: You have two letters of recommendation written on the university’s own form.
• No completed degree yet: You have not yet obtained a Master’s or Diplom degree at the Mozarteum.

How to apply

Please email the application form and the two letters of recommendation to the University’s Student and Examinations Office. For the academic year 2026/27, you can apply from 1 March to 30 April 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

The target group is small: it consists exclusively of international students at this particular art college from the 4th semester onwards, who have good grades and a genuine financial need. If you clearly meet these criteria and can provide evidence of your financial need and your grades, your chances are good. Furthermore, the modest monthly amount means that the number of applicants remains manageable.
