The James and Mary Hogan Prize in History is presented by family and friends of the Hogans. James Hogan was a professor of History at University College Cork. This prize is awarded for the best seminar dissertation in History in the BA Degree Examination. Original research and interpretation are sought after when choosing the recipient of this award.

To receive this award a student must be registered at University College Cork. The student must be judged to have the best seminar dissertation in History in the BA Degree Examination.
