Mrs. Astrid Thaysen's Scholarship for Pharmaceutical Scientific Basic Research

Benefit

You receive a one-off grant of 20,000 to 50,000 DKK (about 2,700 to 6,700 EUR) for basic research in medical science. You can use the money for running costs, equipment, salary and research trips or stays abroad. The fund is an independent Danish foundation that shares out roughly 200,000 DKK (about 27,000 EUR) in total each year. Note: the grant does not cover travel or stays abroad that took place before the money was awarded.

Eligibility

• Field: You work in medical science (health and medicine). Cancer research, especially breast cancer, is preferred.
• Research level: You are a researcher, usually at PhD or postdoctoral level.
• Age: Researchers up to 40 are preferred, but this is not a strict cut-off.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Where you research: Any institution is fine, but the work must be based in Denmark.

How to apply

You apply by post, not online, to the law firm that runs the fund in Copenhagen. Include a short cover letter, a project description (2 to 3 pages, 5 at most), a CV and a publication list. The deadline is 31 December. If it falls on a weekend, it moves to the following Monday.
