About this scholarship

Scholarships for Young Mothers (Granada)

You will receive a one-off payment of up to 650 EUR, which is intended to help you continue your studies whilst bringing up your child. The amount is paid as a one-off lump sum, not on a monthly basis. The City of Granada (Ayuntamiento de Granada) awards this grant every year to enable mothers to balance bringing up their children with school, work or higher education. For the 2025/26 round, the City has allocated a total of 37,050 EUR, which is sufficient for approximately 57 grants.

Who can apply

  • Motherhood: You are the mother of a child who is younger than 10 years old (as at 31 December 2025).
  • Where you live: You are registered (empadronada) in the city of Granada and had already been so for at least 6 months before the deadline.
  • Enrolment: You are already enrolled before the application window opens. This may be at Bachillerato (upper secondary level), a vocational training programme (Formación Profesional at any level), a university course or a state-recognised language school. The institution may be public or private, but must be state-recognised. Face-to-face teaching, blended learning, online teaching and distance learning are all recognised.
  • Non-regulated courses: Other training also counts if a public body recognises it, it is taught in person with certified attendance, and it lasts at least 250 hours (or the equivalent in ECTS credits).
  • Field of study: Any topic is fine.
  • Civil status: It doesn’t matter whether you’re single, married or in any other kind of relationship.
  • One application: If you are enrolled on more than one degree programme, you may only apply for one of them.

How to apply

Please submit the signed application form via the city’s online portal (Sede Electrónica) or at the city’s general registry office. For round 2025, the application period ran from 30 September to 23 October 2025. If there are more applicants than funding places available, the city assesses each case based on your family circumstances (your age, number of children, single-parent status, disability or care responsibilities, and circumstances relating to gender-based violence) and household income, with priority given to families on lower incomes.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrow: you must be a Granada resident, a mother of a young child, and enrolled in studies, so only people in one city qualify. With around 57 grants funded each year, prospects are reasonable if you fit. When applicants outnumber grants, priority goes to younger mothers, single-parent and larger families, and lower household incomes, so document your situation clearly.
