What you get

During the four-year duration of your Bachelor’s degree at Universidad Católica de Ávila (UCAV) 2,500 EUR per year, you will receive a total of up to 10,000 EUR. The amount is paid out each year upon enrolment and applied towards your enrolment fee. If your annual fee is less than 2,500 EUR, you will receive the full amount of the fee instead. The funding comes from the Friends of UCAV Association, a support organisation founded in 1996 that provides financial support to students from Ávila.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolling at the Universidad Católica de Ávila for the first time as a new student on a face-to-face degree programme.
• Where you are from: You were born in Ávila or the province of Ávila, or you live there.
• Your qualification: You have completed the Bachillerato (Spanish upper secondary education) or a Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior (higher vocational training). An earlier qualification is also acceptable.
• Grades: You have an average mark of at least 8.50, either in the general stage of the EBAU (the Spanish university entrance examination) or as the average mark from your vocational training.
• No prior degree: You do not yet hold an official university degree.
• Field of study: Every degree programme taught on campus counts.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you meet the Ávila and enrolment conditions.
• Keeping the award: Each year, you need an average of at least 8 and must pass at least 90% of your credits.

How to apply

Please submit your signed application and supporting documents to the office of the Friends of the UCAV by 30 October. A panel comprising members of the association’s executive committee and individuals appointed by the university will then make a decision. The result will be announced before 15 November.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is very limited: only one scholarship is available. You must be from Ávila, enrol as a first-year undergraduate student at UCAV, and achieve an average mark of 8.50. This keeps the pool of eligible applicants small, and the award must not go unfilled provided a valid application is submitted. If you clearly meet these conditions and can demonstrate good grades, your chances are good.
