Oiva Kuusisto Foundation - Scholarship

Oiva Kuusisto Foundation scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant for research or cultural work. The money is intended to fund your research or cultural project, not to cover your living costs whilst you are studying abroad. The Oiva Kuusisto Foundation runs the programme in collaboration with the Association of Finnish Agronomists and awards up to 280,000 EUR annually. Around half of this goes towards scientific research to promote agriculture, whilst the other half goes towards cultural projects.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a Finnish citizen.
• What you do: You carry out scientific research to promote agriculture or run a cultural project.
• Region: Your research benefits agriculture in southern Ostrobothnia, central Ostrobothnia or Central Finland. Cultural projects must benefit southern Ostrobothnia.
• Level: You may be a student or a researcher. You can apply for a scholarship for your Master’s thesis at any time.

How to apply

For agricultural research grants, apply online through the Agronomiliitto grant system. The 2026 window runs from 1 to 30 April 2026, and decisions follow once it closes. For culture grants, apply through the South Ostrobothnia Fund of the Finnish Cultural Foundation, which then recommends projects to the foundation's board.
