Finnish Society for Nutrition Research - Travel Grant

What you get

You will receive a travel allowance of up to 999 EUR for a trip abroad relating to nutritional science. This covers travel, registration and participation costs, but not the costs of meals and accommodation. You will receive the money after your trip upon presentation of your original receipts. The grant is provided by the Finnish Society for Nutritional Research (Suomen ravitsemustieteen yhdistys, SRY), a scientific society for nutritional research in Finland. It is intended to support travel to conferences where you present a poster or give a talk, courses to further your knowledge of nutrition, research visits, and participation in the Nordic Nutrition Summer Symposium (NNSS). In the year 2026, the funding will mainly go to participants in this symposium. The number of grants and the total amount vary each year.

Who can apply

• Membership: You are a member of the Finnish Society for Nutrition Research.
• Your trip: This refers to an area of nutritional science, such as a conference, a course, a research visit or the ‘Nordic Nutrition Summer Symposium’.
• No other funding: Your travel expenses are not covered by an employer or by any other person. Members in this situation will be given priority.
• How often: You may receive this grant from SRY a maximum of twice in total.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You send a free-form application as a single PDF by email to the society's board. Explain the purpose, date and budget of your trip. Name any other grants you have applied for or received, and list any earlier grants from SRY. Attach your conference abstract, course programme or research-visit invitation, plus your CV and list of publications. The deadline is 31 May. The board decides in June and tells you personally by the end of June.
