About this award / prize

National Chamber of Pharmacists Award

You will receive a one-off prize of 3,000 EUR for your work or a practical project that has strengthened the role of the pharmacist in the field of public health. The Conseil national de l’Ordre des pharmaciens (CNOP), France’s national chamber of pharmacists, awards this prize once a year. It recognises projects that you have already completed, for example in the areas of prevention and health promotion, early detection screening, improving professional practice, quality of care, or guiding patients in the self-management of their treatment. The 2025 award winner led a pharmacy initiative to raise awareness of endometriosis. The prize is presented during the annual ‘Journée de l’Ordre’.

Who can apply

  • Profession: You are a qualified pharmacist. You can prove this by providing a copy of your pharmacy degree or your PhD in pharmacy.
  • Field: You can work in any area of pharmacy.
  • Your own work: You are submitting a project you have carried out yourself which serves the public health.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
  • Excluded: Members, staff and service providers of the Chamber’s committees, as well as their direct heirs, are ineligible to apply.

How to apply

Please send your application by 15 September to the CNOP Executive Committee in Paris. Please enclose a covering letter, a CV, a copy of your degree certificate, a report on the work you are submitting, and a brief summary explaining how it aligns with the objectives of the prize. A jury chaired by the President of the Chamber will select the winner. The jury also comprises Council members, academic staff, the previous year’s winner and a representative of a patients’ organisation.

How realistic are your chances?

As only one pharmacist is honoured each year, competition for this award is fierce. It is not academic grades that are decisive, but a specific, completed project that has demonstrably strengthened the role of pharmacists within the healthcare system. If you have led such an initiative and can clearly demonstrate its impact, you have a real chance of winning. A convincing concept, backed up by evidence, counts for more than a flawless CV.
