What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of 70 EUR for one school year. This is paid in addition to the state agricultural grant from the French Ministry of Agriculture. The Département of Orne (a local authority in Normandy) provides these funds to support families whose children attend an agricultural college. All eligible recipients receive the same fixed amount.

Who can apply

• Level: You are a pupil at a secondary school and not a university student. This includes the lower years of agricultural college (years 4ème to 3ème), the CAPA and BEPA vocational streams, and the first two years of a ‘Bac pro’.
• School type: You are attending an agricultural college.
• Financial need: You are already receiving the national agricultural scholarship from the Ministry of Agriculture. This scholarship is means-tested and is based on your family’s income.
• Where you live: Her family lives in the Orne department.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. The key requirement is that your family lives in Orne.

How to apply

If you attend an agricultural college in the Orne department, you will receive the money automatically without having to fill in a form. Only families whose child attends an agricultural college outside the Orne department need to submit an application form. This must be signed by the headteacher and submitted by 20 October.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not an award that is granted on a competitive basis. If you are already receiving the national agricultural grant, are attending an agricultural college and your family lives in the Orne department, you will, of course, receive the supplement of 70 EUR. For pupils within the département, this is granted automatically. For those studying outside the Orne département, you simply need to submit the form by the deadline.
