About this award / prize

What you get

You receive a one-off prize of 2,500 EUR as the top law student in your final year. It is funded by the Irish law firm Holmes O'Malley Sexton LLP (also known as Holmes) and awarded by the University of Limerick (UL). This is a merit prize for strong results, not a monthly grant.

Who can win it

  • Degree: You study the Bachelor of Laws (Law Plus), the LLB programme at the University of Limerick (course code LM029, four years full time).
  • Study phase: You are in your final year of the programme.
  • Grades: You have the highest marks of all final-year law students at the start of your final year.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can win it, as long as you are enrolled on the programme.

How to apply

There is no application. The prize goes automatically to the final-year law student who starts the year with the highest marks.

How realistic are your chances?

Only 1 prize is awarded each year, and it goes to the single highest-scoring final-year law student on the Law Plus LLB.
