About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive 2,000 EUR per year, which will be paid for up to 3 years whilst you are studying at the National College of Ireland (NCI) in Dublin. In addition to the money, you will receive a comprehensive support package for athletes: an annual gym membership with a personalised training plan, one-to-one sessions with a fitness expert, nutritional advice, performance and motivation coaching, sports therapy and massages, additional support with sports-related costs, branded kit, and academic support to help you balance your studies and sport. If you apply via the CAO, Ireland’s centralised admissions system for full-time bachelor’s degree programmes, your required entry marks may also be reduced by up to 30.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are a full-time undergraduate student at the National College of Ireland in Dublin and are undertaking a 3-year degree programme.
  • Sporting level: You compete, or have the potential to compete, at international, national, inter-provincial or inter-county level.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, including international students.
  • Other funding: You can still apply even if you are already receiving sports funding from a sports association, and combine this with a further NCI scholarship. In some cases, the total amount may be subject to a limit.
