About this award / prize

What you get

You will receive a sum of one-off prize of 2,500 EUR (gross; tax amounting to 25% will be deducted from this, leaving a net amount of approximately 1,875 euros). This sum is awarded once per academic year to a single medical student at the University of Turin. Cristina Bonelli’s mother established the scholarship in her memory, and it is administered by the University’s Student Services Organisation.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at the University of Turin.
  • Course and year: You are in the 3th year (as scheduled) of the single-cycle degree programme in Medicine and Surgery (Medicina e Chirurgia) for 2024/2025.
  • Exams: You must have passed and registered for all your examinations for the 1 and 2 academic years by 31 July 2025. If you miss this deadline, you will be expelled.
  • Grades: The weighted average mark determines the ranking, so good marks decide who wins.
  • Nationality: Open to students of all nationalities.

How to apply

Please email the official application form to the Studentenwerk. Enter ‘Premio di Studio Cristina Bonelli’ in the subject line. The application deadline is 12:00 on 17. October 2025; no exceptions will be made. A three-member panel will assess applicants on the basis of their weighted grade point average. In the event of a tie, the decision will first be based on a lower ISEE score (a measure of your family’s income and assets) and then on younger age.

How realistic are your chances?

The eligibility criteria for this prize are very strict: only medical students in their 3th year of study at a university who have passed all their exams in the first two years of study are eligible to enter. This keeps the number of entrants small. However, only one prize is awarded each year, namely to the candidate with the highest weighted average mark. If you meet the criteria and are amongst the best in your year, your chances are good.
