About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a one-off grant for the current academic year, starting at 700 EUR. The exact amount is determined by a points-based system: 700 EUR for a lower points total, 1,000 EUR for the mid-range, and 1,200 EUR in the most serious cases. The grant is awarded by ADISU Puglia, the regional agency for student financial support. It is intended for students whose studies have been disrupted by a serious personal or family crisis. You cannot combine it with the standard scholarship. Should you subsequently receive a standard scholarship for the same academic year, you will be required to repay this grant.
Who can apply
- University: You are studying at a university or a public college of art and music (AFAM) in the Italian region of Apulia.
- Degree: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or single-cycle Master’s degree programme. Funding is only available for your first degree at the relevant level.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- A serious event: In the calendar year prior to submitting your application, you or your family suffered a serious setback. Examples include: a serious illness affecting you personally or a newly acquired disability; the death or serious illness of a family member; the birth of a child in your household; or the loss of employment by the family’s main breadwinner. Any other event that has significantly worsened your financial situation also counts.
- Financial situation: Your household’s ISEE (a measure of family income and assets) is no more than 25,000 euros, and your ISPE (an asset indicator) is no more than 55,000 euros.
- Study progress: You have achieved the minimum number of credit points required for your academic year. If you have not achieved the required number of credit points due to the crisis, but meet the income thresholds for the standard grant, you can still apply.
- One time only: You cannot get this grant twice for the same reason. Single-cycle master's students may apply twice only if the events are different.
How to apply
Applications are made online via the ADISU Puglia student portal. You log in using SPID, CIE or CNS. The application period usually runs from 1 to 31 March each year. For 2024/2025, it has been extended to 1 to 30 April. You must enclose evidence of the incident, such as a doctor’s certificate, as well as your examination timetable and a copy of your identity document. Late applications and documents submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is very narrowly defined. It is awarded exclusively to students at universities in Apulia who can demonstrate both financial need and a specific serious event that occurred in the past year. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is small compared to open scholarships. If you clearly meet the income thresholds, have the required credits and can provide evidence of the qualifying event, your chances are good. Applications are assessed against set criteria and are not ranked against a large pool of applicants.
