About this scholarship
General Description
The University of Sussex strives to assist its students achieve their higher education goals. The university has the Care Leavers Award to help with this. The award is paid in three installments per year. Qualifying students receive £1,000 per term. New students get an additional £500 in their first term. The award is open to students who have spent at least 13 weeks in care after their 14th birthday.
Requirements
All applicants must be accepted to the university. They must also make contact with the University of Sussex Widening Participation Team. All applicants must have been in care for at least 13 weeks. This has to be after the age of 14.
