Federal Ministry of Science and Research (BMWF) - Franz Werfel Fellowship for young university teachers of German language and Austrian literature

General Description

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (BWMF) supports young university teachers from outside Austria who wish to work as visiting researchers in the fields of German Language Studies and Austrian Literature. The value of these research grants is 1.133 Euro a month (1.040 Euro plus an additional payment of 93 Euro in concept of book allowance); this monthly stipend will be provided for 4 to 9 months, extendable to a total of 18 months if the research work yields satisfactory results.

Requirements

Even though a doctoral degree is not explicitly required, candidates must be employees of a higher education institution, and their teaching duties must be focused on Austrian literature. Two letters of recommendation are required, as well as the commitment of an Austrian university lecturer to act as academic supervisor of the applicant. Candidates must also be younger than 35 years of age.
