About this award / prize
List Förderpreis (List-Award)
You win 5,000 EUR for an academic project that helps solve city traffic and parking problems. The award goes to one or two winners each year. Further entries can receive a recognition prize without a fixed cash amount. The prize is funded by the List Group, a Vienna-based owner and operator of garages and real estate across Austria and neighbouring central European countries. It rewards practical, creative ideas on topics such as car traffic and parking, road pricing, digital parking systems, public transport, e-mobility, parcel delivery and autonomous driving.
Who can apply
- Who you are: You are a student or graduate of a university or university of applied sciences.
- What you submit: You are submitting an academic paper, such as a seminar paper, a Bachelor’s, Diploma, Master’s or doctoral thesis, or a concept paper.
- Topic: Your work focuses on urban transport and parking, for example private and public transport, and how the various modes of transport interact within a city.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. This call for applications is aimed at applicants from Austria and neighbouring countries.
- Quality: The jury looks for a clear objective, a sound methodology, logical conclusions, creativity and practical relevance.
- Originality: You confirm that the work has not already been submitted for a different prize.
How to apply
You must submit your entry to the List Group by 15 December. A jury comprising representatives from TU Wien, the ÖAMTC and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber will assess the entries. The awards ceremony will take place in the first quarter of the following year.
How realistic are your chances?
This award has a narrow scope: only theses on the topics of urban transport and parking are eligible, so the pool of eligible theses is small. If your thesis clearly addresses one of these topics and proposes a practical, well-reasoned solution, your chances are good. Since 2007, more than 30 students and teams have won – usually one or two cash prizes are awarded each year – so a focused, relevant submission really stands out.
