The late Joe Gantly made a large contribution to the industry and education in the Cork Area. Cork Chamber donates a sum of €1,500 yearly to University College Cork to commemorate Mr. Gantly. The Joe Gantly Prize is avaliable for Engineering students. A student must obtain the highest mark for the work placement module in each of the BE programs. Each student will then be invited to make a presentation to a panel of judges. The panel will decide on the winner of the prize.
The student must be in one of the Engineering programs. The student must attain the highest mark in his/her class on the work placement module. The candidate will then give a presentation over their work placement. The presentations will be judged and a winner will be chosen.
