Camille Hela Foundation grants

You will receive a one-off grant of 4,000 EUR in the case of a full scholarship, or 2,000 EUR or 1,000 EUR in the case of a partial scholarship. The grant period is 1 years and cannot be extended. The funding will cover either your research in a laboratory or department at the University of Liège (ULiège) or the travel costs for further studies or a placement abroad. The funding comes from the Hela Foundation, which is part of the ULiège Foundation and supports young researchers at the university. Depending on the foundation’s investment income, several scholarships may be awarded per round. Publication costs are not covered.

Who can apply

• Degree: You hold a Master’s degree which you obtained less than 5 years ago. The 5 years are counted from the year in which you obtained your first Master’s degree.
• Current enrolment: You are enrolled on a specialised Master’s programme (Master de spécialisation) or a PhD programme at the University of Liège.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Supervision: A professor at your host institution (ULiège or a foreign one) agrees to supervise your work. Two other professors who taught you earlier recommend you.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online using the form linked on the Foundation’s website. The deadline for applications is 17 October 2025. The committee may decide not to award any grants if the projects are not convincing enough.
