About this award / prize
What you get
You will receive a one-off cash prize to fund further research training following your Master’s degree. One prize is awarded each year. The amount of the prize varies from year to year, as it is drawn from the annual returns on the Dehay Foundation’s endowment capital; therefore, no fixed amount is determined in advance. You may use the money in two ways: to cover the costs of research work in a laboratory or department at the University of Liège (ULiège), or as a travel grant for further study or a placement abroad. The prize is awarded by the Julie Dehay Foundation, one of ULiège’s long-standing foundations, which promotes scientific research at the university. Please note that publication costs are not covered.
Who can apply
- Degree: You hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent second-cycle qualification which you obtained less than 5 years ago (counting from the year in which you obtained your first second-cycle qualification).
- Current status: You are enrolled in a specialisation Master or a PhD at ULiège, or you are a young postdoctoral researcher at ULiège.
- Age: You are under 35 years old.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
- Backing: A professor at the host institution (ULiège or a foreign one) agrees to supervise your work. You also have two other professors who taught you earlier and will recommend you.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via the Microsoft Forms link on the Foundation’s website. The deadline for applications is 17 October 2025. A selection panel will assess the projects. It may decide not to award the prize in a particular year if the proposals submitted are not convincing enough.
