About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a lump-sum grant towards your flight to undertake an internship or carry out research for your final-year dissertation abroad in one of the 31 partner countries of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (the government of the French-speaking part of Belgium). The amount depends on the distance: it ranges from around 315 EUR for a nearby country such as Tunisia to around 1,735 EUR for distant destinations such as Bolivia, South Africa or Vietnam. If you are on a low income (AMO status) or already receive an FWB study grant, you will also receive a monthly living allowance of up to 330 EUR. This allowance varies depending on the country and is granted for up to 6 months. The funding comes from ARES, the Association of Higher Education Institutions in the French-speaking part of Belgium.

- Where you go: You are travelling to one of the 31 ARES partner countries in Africa, Latin America or Asia, for example to Senegal, Peru, Vietnam or Rwanda.
- Purpose: Your stay will last at least 30 days and will count towards your ECTS credits as part of an internship or your final-year dissertation (Mémoire/TFE).
- Field of study: All subjects can apply.
- Once per degree: You can only receive this grant once per degree programme.
