About this scholarship
What you get
The University of Liège (ULiège) in Belgium gives non-repayable financial help to students in money trouble. There is no single fixed amount. The Student Social Service looks at your situation and can cover different costs:
- A rent contribution, once per semester
- 75% of a train pass
- Money towards a computer or study materials
- Support for compulsory study trips
- A top-up to your Erasmus grant if you study abroad
- A monthly allowance during exam months (December, January, May, June) if you cannot work then
- Help with unusual medical bills your health insurance does not cover
From the 2026-2027 academic year, ULiège can also reduce your enrolment fee (up to 1,194 EUR at the full rate) or, in some cases, cover it entirely. You can also take an interest-free loan to pay the fee in instalments.
