About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a scholarship to support your training as a pianist, particularly for periods spent abroad. The fund pays out an average of around 243,000 DKK per year (approximately 32,600 EUR). The scholarships generally run for 1 years. The board may extend the funding for up to 3 years if your training requires it, for example in the case of a longer period abroad. The money comes from a Danish foundation established following the death of the pianist Ellen Andersson.

Who can apply

  • What you study: You are training to become a pianist. This is the main focus, but conductors, composers and students of other instruments are also welcome to apply.
  • Where you go: The grant is primarily intended for study periods abroad.
  • Nationality: Danish applicants are given priority. In exceptional cases, the committee may also award grants to applicants of other nationalities.
  • Who applies: You are applying as an individual.

How to apply

Please send a written application to the fund’s administration in Copenhagen. Please use the application form provided and describe your planned course of study in detail. The application deadline is 15 May each year.
