About this scholarship

Farmer Kristian Nielsen's Scholarship

Once you have completed your basic agricultural training, you will receive a one-off grant to help fund further theoretical training in agriculture. The exact amount is not published. Older figures suggest that around DKK 14,000 (approximately EUR 1,900) is distributed annually, meaning that the individual amounts are small. The municipality of Hjørring in North Jutland, Denmark, administers this grant to help young farmers from the region continue their training.

Who can apply

  • Local ties: You live in the former municipality of Løkken-Vrå, which is now part of the municipality of Hjørring, or have close ties to that municipality.
  • Your work: You are, or have been, employed in agriculture, forestry or fisheries.
  • What you study: Once you have completed your basic agricultural training, you will undertake further theoretical training.
  • Who it is for: Open to men and women.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. What matters is your connection to the region.

How to apply

Please complete the application form and submit it to Borgerservice (the Citizens’ Service Centre) in Hjørring. The deadline is 1 September, and the grant will be paid out later that same month.
