About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant of DKK 10,000 (about 1,340 EUR) for a study trip between Denmark and the Faroe Islands. Each year, the fund awards two grants of 10,000 DKK: one for a trip from Denmark to the Faroe Islands, and the other for a trip from the Faroe Islands to Denmark. The grant is administered by the Danish-Faroese Cultural Fund, which reports to the Danish High Commissioner in the Faroe Islands.

Eligibility

  • Age: You are between 18 and 30 years old.
  • Where you go: You are travelling from Denmark to the Faroe Islands or from the Faroe Islands to Denmark.
  • Purpose: Your trip strengthens cultural ties between the Faroe Islands and Denmark, with the term ‘culture’ being understood in the broadest sense: theatre, film, music, art, the publication of a book or a study visit. The trip must not be a school trip, a sports trip, purely educational activities or Nordic cultural cooperation.
  • Timing: Your trip must not be finished before 1 June of the award year. In other words, it has to take place on or after 1 June.
  • Field of study: Any field is permitted.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Please complete the application form for the study trip grant and send it by email or post to the Fund’s secretariat. Please enclose a brief statement of purpose, a CV, a budget breakdown and any letters of recommendation. The application deadline is 1 March each year; late applications will not be considered. The Board will make its decision in April or May.
