About this award / prize
Benefit
You will receive 2,500 EUR for the best research project in the field of marketing, as well as a certificate, which will be presented to you at the Aster Awards ceremony. The total prize money amounts to 5,000 EUR: 2,500 EUR will go to the student author or team of authors, and 2,500 EUR will go to the supervising professor. The prize is awarded by the ESIC Business & Marketing School (ESIC University) in Madrid, which has been organising the annual ‘Premios Aster’ since 1982.
Eligibility
- Level: You are an undergraduate student (Diplomatura or Grado) at a university.
- Field: Your research focuses on marketing or a closely related topic in economics.
- Supervision: A professor supervises your thesis. Each professor may supervise a maximum of two theses.
- Team or solo: You can apply individually or as a team.
- Original work: Your work is unpublished and has neither been submitted to any other competition nor won a prize in one.
- Sources: Your paper draws on two or more research sources.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
How to apply
Please submit your completed research paper to the Aster Prizes Secretariat (Secretaría de los Premios Aster) by 2 May. A jury comprising academics and representatives from the business world will assess the submitted entries and select the winner.
How realistic are your chances?
The entry criteria for this prize are quite strict: you must submit a completed, original piece of market research supported by a supervising professor, which means that only a small group of students take part in the competition each year. If your research is well-founded and clearly focuses on marketing, you stand a real chance of winning. Please note that, in recent editions, ESIC has increasingly geared this category towards professional researchers. You should therefore check the current entry requirements before preparing your entry for the student competition.
