About this scholarship
What the Atlantic Copper Foundation International Scholarship gives you
You will receive a one-off grant to cover your travel and living costs whilst studying or undertaking an internship abroad. In the past, these grants have averaged around 1,100 euros per person. The exact amount is determined on a case-by-case basis and depends on the annual budget as well as your personal circumstances. The grant is paid in addition to your Erasmus+ scholarship, not in place of it. It covers the duration of your stay abroad, for example 5 or 10 months. The Atlantic Copper Foundation, a charitable organisation based in Huelva, Spain, funds this grant in partnership with the University of Huelva to help talented students who would otherwise be unable to afford to study abroad.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled at the University of Huelva (UHU).
- Existing grant: You have applied for an Erasmus+, Erasmus work placement or a similar UHU scholarship to study or work abroad, or you are already receiving such a scholarship. These funds are intended solely to supplement such a scholarship.
- Grades: You have a good grade point average, which, depending on your degree programme, ranges between 7.5 and 8.25 on the Spanish 10-point scale. It is 7.5 for engineering and architecture, 8.0 for education, economics, law and the natural sciences, and 8.25 for the humanities.
- Field of study: Open to all degree programmes at UHU.
- Financial need: Your family’s financial situation makes it difficult to fund a course of study abroad.
- First-time or renewal: You can apply as a new applicant or renew your application.
How to apply
Please complete the online form on the Foundation’s website and email your documents to the Foundation. The University of Huelva and the Foundation will jointly decide on the award of the scholarships, taking into account your grades and your financial need.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding is subject to very strict conditions. You must be studying at the University of Huelva, have been awarded or have applied for an Erasmus grant, have achieved a minimum grade and demonstrate financial need; as a result, only a small number of students are eligible. Only a handful of students are awarded funding each year (three for 2024-2025), so there is fierce competition within this small group. If you clearly meet all the requirements and can prove your financial need, your chances are good.
