Comisión Fulbright España - Fulbright Scholarships for Postgraduate studies in USA

What you get

You will receive a comprehensive package for a Master’s or PhD programme at a US university. It includes:

• Living allowance: around 3,290 EUR per month, depending on where you study.
• Tuition and fees: to 35,000 USD per year (approximately 32,000 EUR) for programmes lasting more than 12 months, or up to 40,000 USD (approximately 37,000 EUR) for programmes lasting no more than 12 months.
• Travel and setup: 1,300 USD (approximately 1,200 EUR) for your return flights and your initial expenses upon arrival.
• Insurance: medical and accident cover.

The funding runs for 10 to 12 months and may be extended by up to 12 further months. The scholarship is awarded by the Comisión Fulbright España and funded by the Spanish and US governments, as well as private sponsors.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You hold Spanish nationality.
• Degree: You have obtained a higher education qualification (Licenciatura, Grado or Master’s degree) between January 2019 and September 2026.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Where you study: You are studying for a Master’s or PhD degree at a US university.
• English: You must demonstrate a good command of English by means of a test taken on or after 1 January 2024: TOEFL iBT: at least 97 (100 for Journalism and International Relations), IELTS Academic: at least 7.0, or Duolingo: at least 125.
• Extra tests: For an MBA or a Ph.D. in management you also need a GMAT result. For art, architecture or urban design you submit a portfolio through online links.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the online form on the Comisión Fulbright España website. The form is available from 15 January to 14 April 2026, and you will need three letters of recommendation. Shortlisted candidates will receive feedback in early June 2026 and will be invited to a face-to-face interview on 15 or 16 June 2026. The final results will be announced in July 2026.
